Recommendations of a Group of Experts: Standards for the Use of Automated Identification Systems for Bacteria and Susceptibility to Antimicrobials (Brasilia, Brazil, 26–28 October 2004)

Protocol for Calculating the Cost of Hospital Infections (Washington, DC, 2000)
The objectives of this protocol are to (1) determine the excess cost attributable to hospital infections in selected hospitals, (2) train staff at the selected hospitals in methodologies for calculating the cost of hospital infections, and (3) determine the cumulative incidence of bacteremias associated with Staphylococcus aureus and the proportion of such infections with resistance to oxacillin.
